Important notes before filing for custody - there are many myths and rumors about child custody, visitation, and support. This document will help you narrow down your rights and responsibilities before you file for custody, visitation and/or support.
Custody Agreement - if both parties agree to the terms of custody and visitation you can sign this agreement packet in front of a Notary, obtain the Judge's signature, and file it in the Prothonotary’s office.
Custody Contested - if both parties cannot come to an agreement this packet can be signed by the Judge, and filed in the Prothonotary's office. The person filing the order will be responsible for serving the opposing party.
Custody Modification - if there is an existing custody/visitation order in place this packet can be used to modify that order. The person filing the order will be responsible for serving the opposing party.
Contempt of Custody/Visitation - if the opposing party is willfully disobeying the existing order this packet can be used to file a contempt order with the Court of Common Pleas. The person filing the order will be responsible for serving the opposing party.
Contempt of Spousal Support/Alimony - if the opposing party is willfully disobeying the existing order this packet can be used to file a contempt order with the Court of Common Pleas. The person filing the order will be responsible for serving the opposing party.
Change of Jurisdiction - if the children in the matter have resided in Tioga for at least six months this packet can be used to change the jurisdiction of the existing court order to Tioga County. |
